About CCDAs
iKnowMed uses the term CCDA to refer to a few types of files that contain patient information that can be shared with an outside provider or organization.
iKnowMed has 3 flavors of CCDA:
An Export Patient Record (1-year) File (CCDA) is a summary of information entered in the past year.
An Export Patient Record File (CCDA) is a summary of information entered in iKnowMed.
An Export Patient Referral Note File (CCDA) is a summary of information entered in iKnowMed including the Referral Reason and Referring Provider info.
These CCDAs are generated in the following areas in iKnowMed:
Carequality
CCDA Batch
Direct Exchange Messaging
Health Information Exchange
Release of Health Information Chart Summary Widget
A CCDA is often used to share patient information between providers, like when transferring a patient between settings of care and when reconciling Allergies, Medications, and Problems. CCDAs can be attached to charts, they appear in the Documents list, and they are maintained as a Document Type.
