MEASURE DESCRIPTION

Percentage of visits for patients, regardless of age, with a diagnosis of cancer currently receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy who report having pain with a documented plan of care to address pain.

Numerator

THERE ARE TWO CRITERIA COMBINED FOR THIS MEASURE:

  1. Patient visits that included a documented plan of care to address pain OR

  2. All visits for patients, regardless of age, with a diagnosis of cancer currently receiving radiation therapy who report having

    pain.

Positive pain is considered a pain score higher than 0.

Denominator

THERE ARE TWO CRITERIA COMBINED FOR THIS MEASURE:

  1. All visits for patients, regardless of age, with a diagnosis of cancer currently receiving chemotherapy who report having pain OR

  2. All visits for patients, regardless of age, with a diagnosis of cancer currently receiving radiation therapy who report having pain

Exclusions/Exceptions

None



Telehealth? Yes for chemotherapy patients, no for radiation patients.

Scoring: 2026: Up to 10 points.
