Patient Access Report

Monitoring who accesses your patients' charts is an important step in safeguarding patient health information. The Patient Access Report shows who accessed which section in a patient's chart and when they accessed it.

The Patient Access Report has these columns:

• Date/Time shows when was the chart accessed.

• Action shows what they did with the info.

• User Id and User Name tell you who accessed the chart.

• Section lists where in the chart they went.

• Restricted Access Reason gives the Reason provided for each access of a Restricted Chart. The Restricted Access Reason is recorded once per session but the reason shows for each access of a Restricted Chart.

To generate a Patient Access Report:

1. Navigate to Flowsheet Reports.

2. Click the Patient Access Report option.

   

3. Pick a Start Date in the first calendar picker that appears.

4. Pick an End Date in the second calendar picker.

5. To view access events by anyone leave User Name blank.

6. To filter the report for access events by a specific person, enter their User Name.

7. Click PRINT.

   

The preview pane has Print and Download options to make this document available outside of iKnowMed.

To print the previewed document:

1. Click the Printer icon in the upper right.

2. Set your preferred printer settings (not shown).

3. Click Print (not shown).

To download the previewed document:

1. Click the Download icon in the upper right.

2. Enter a File name for the document (not shown).

3. Click Save (not shown).

To close the preview window, click CLOSE.
